Bid process coordinator REC Power Development & Consultancy Ltd (RECPDCL) has formally transferred the project special purpose vehicles (SPVs) of two intrastate transmission system (InSTS) schemes to their respective winning developers.
Both the InSTS schemes are taking shape in Karnataka, and both of them were transferred on May 30, 2026.
While “Mekahli Power Transmission Ltd” was transferred to Dilip Buildcon Ltd, making the company’s debut in the power transmission development space, “Hampapura Power Transmission Ltd” was acquired by seasoned player Resonia Ltd.
These projects, according to information available with tndindia.com represent Karnataka’s first instances of deploying the TBCB route for intrastate grid development.

Project SPV: Mekhali Power Transmission Ltd
Developer (TSP): Dilip Buildcon Ltd
Scheme: Establishing 400kV substation at Mekhali along with associated transmission lines (Belagavi District)
State: Karnataka
Others bidders in the fray: PGCIL, Resonia, Adani Energy Solutions, KCC Buildcon, Montecarlo
Transmission charges (tariff): Rs.3,313.52 million
Project SPV: Hampapura Power Transmission Ltd
Developer (TSP): Resonia Ltd
Scheme: Establishing 400kV substation at Hampapura along with associated transmission lines (Mandya District)
State: Karnataka
Others bidders in the fray: PGCIL, Resonia, Adani Energy Solutions, KCC Buildcon
Transmission charges (tariff): Rs.4,029.16 million
Third scheme soon
Karnataka is likely to see the formal transfer of its third intrastate scheme in the coming weeks. This scheme, housed under “Ryapte Power Transmission Ltd,” has Tata Power as the selected developer. As reported by tndiindia.com on March 9, 2026, the Ryapte scheme came up for re-bidding after the original round was rescinded following high price discovery.
Scheme in UP
RECPDCL is also formally transfer an intrastate scheme in Uttar Pradesh soon. H.G. Infra Engineering Ltd has been selected winning (L1) bidder for the scheme incorporated under “Ranipur Chunar Power Transmission Ltd.” (Read tndindia.com story dated May 26, 2026)
