HG Infra Engineering Ltd has been declared as the winning bidder for an intrastate transmission system (InSTS) project, under the tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) mechanism.
In a stock exchange communication, H.G. Infra Engineering Ltd (HGIEL) said that it has been declared winner for an InSTS-TBCB scheme in Uttar Pradesh, formally referred to as “Construction of 220/132/33 kV AIS substation, Ranipur (Mau) and 220/132/33kV AIS substation, Chunar (Mirzapur) with their associated lines.”

HGIEL quoted the winning tariff of Rs.450.11 million, being the annual transmission charges (tariff). The project will be developed under the build, own, operate & transfer (BOOT) model with a 35-year concession period.
As per the standard practice, the project SPV “Ranipur Chunar Power Transmission Ltd,” currently a wholly-owned subsidiary of bid process coordinator REC Power Development & Consultancy Ltd (RECPDCL), will be transferred to HGIEL in due course.
For the Jaipur-headquartered HGIEL, the Ranipur-Chunar scheme marks the company’s potential entry in the InSTS development space, under TBCB.
The company is already present in the interstate transmission system (ISTS) space, under the TBCB mode, with “Angul Sundargarh Transmission Ltd” that was acquired in July 2025.
As per information available with tndindia.com, there are currently at least four InSTS-TBCB schemes, including the one under discussion, for which winners have been declared but the formal SPV transfer is pending. These are:
Besides, RECPDCL, it is learnt, has selected winners (names unavailable yet) for two intrastate schemes in Maharashtra – Musalgaon and Jalna – but issuance of the letters of intent is pending approval from the state government.
