The renewable energy (RE) sector has seen a higher share, year-on-year, in REC’s total disbursements in the first half (H1: April to September) of FY25.

According to a brief stock exchange filing, discussing REC’s provisional business performance for H1FY25, total disbursements to the RE sector nearly doubled from Rs.5,863 crore in H1FY24 to Rs.11,297 crore in H1FY25.

Reflecting this, the share of RE sector in total disbursements rose appreciably from 7.7 per cent in H1FY24 to 12.4 per cent in H1FY25.

Meanwhile, total disbursements by REC grew by 20.1 per cent to reach Rs.90,955 crore in H1FY25 from Rs.75,731 crore in the same period of FY24.

The REC stock exchange filing said that the figures provided are provisional and subject to audit.
