Resonia Ltd has been recognised with the National Project Excellence Award at the IPMA Global Project Profession Forum 2026 for its flagship project, Kishtwar Transmission Ltd (KwTL).

The project is a strategically significant transmission initiative located in the hydro-rich Chenab Valley of Jammu & Kashmir.

Developed with an investment of Rs.4.07 billion and commissioned in December 2025, it is designed to evacuate up to 3,014 MW of hydropower to India’s National Grid, strengthening the Northern Grid and accelerating renewable energy integration.

It comprises a 400/132kV GIS substation with 400 MVA transformer capacity and 125 MVA reactor capacity, along with associated 400kV transmission infrastructure, creating a critical pooling and evacuation hub that enhances grid stability and reduces regional transmission constraints.

Strong execution capabilities

Commenting on the recognition, Arun Sharma, CEO, Resonia, said, “We are honoured to receive this recognition for Kishtwar Transmission Ltd . The project reflects our strong execution capabilities in challenging terrains and our commitment to strengthening grid reliability and advancing India’s clean energy transition.”

The award recognises excellence in project management, innovation, and stakeholder engagement, reaffirming Resonia’s capability to deliver complex infrastructure projects in demanding environments. The IPMA Global Project Profession Forum is a premier global platform that celebrates excellence in project management and honours impactful infrastructure achievements across industries.

Demerger of infra business

The infrastructure business of Sterlite Power Transmission Ltd was demerged into Sterlite Grid 5 Ltd (‘SGL5’) effective October 8, 2024. SGL5 recently entered in a joint venture with GIC of Singapore, following which SGL5 is to execute all its transmission projects in India through Sterlite Grid32 Ltd, now renamed to Resonia Ltd.
