Siemens records all-time high order backlog

The order backlog of Siemens Ltd touched an all-time high of Rs.13,520 crore, as of September 30, 2021.

In a release announcing the Q4 (July to September) financial results of FY22, Siemens said that new orders from continuing operations in Q4 of FY22 stood at Rs.3378 crore. This was 4.9 per cent higher than the comparable Rs.3,220 crore in FY21.

 

Further impetus expected

SiemensAccording to Sunil Mathur, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, Siemens Ltd, “We are delighted with the overall performance of the company. Our businesses have performed exceedingly well under very challenging conditions. We are now at pre-COVID19 volume levels with a record order backlog.”

“As government investment in infrastructure continues and capacity utilization levels increase, we believe tendering for private sector capex will pick up in the months ahead. This will provide further impetus to our continued strategy of profitable growth,” Mathur added.

 

Orders up 32 per cent

For the year ended September 30, 2021, Siemens Ltd reported a year-on-year increase of 32.4 per cent in new orders. By the same comparison revenue was 33.1 per cent higher while profit after tax was up 40.3 per cent.

It may be noted the accounting year of Siemens Ltd runs from October 1 to September 30. Thus, Q4 of FY22 stands for the period July 1, 2021 to September 30, 2021.

New Director

Siemens, it its board meeting held on November 24, 2021, approved the appointment of Willem Rudolf Basson as a Director (non-executive, non-independent) in the casual vacancy caused by the resignation of Josef Kaeser. Basson is the Chief Financial Officer of Digital Industries Business of Siemens AG. In his professional career of over 25 years, Basson has held senior positions like finance controller/chief financial officer in various geographies, in companies like Siemens, Continental and Philips, a stock exchange filing by Siemens said.
