SJVN places order for Dhaulasidh hydropower project transmission line | T&D India

SJVN Ltd has placed an order for building the transmission line, associated with the upcoming Dhaulasidh hydropower project in Himachal Pradesh.

In an official release, the Central PSU under the power ministry, said that it has entered into an agreement for construction of a 220kV transmission line for evacuating power from the 66-mw Dhaulasidh hydropower project on Mumbai-headquartered KEC International.

The Rs.47.40-crore contract involves building a 220kV double-circuit single-zebra line from the switchyard of the Dhaulasidh project at Hamirpur in Himachal Pradesh, up to the 220kV grid of Himachal Pradesh Power Transmission Corporation Ltd (HPPTCL) in Sujanpur area.

The transmission line, scheduled to commission by February 2024, will enable SJVN to transmit power generating from the upcoming 660mw Dhaulasidh hydropower project into the network of HPPTCL.  Incidentally, Dhaulasidh HEP is designed to generate 304 million kwh electricity per year.
