Skipper expects that exports will account for a higher share of engineering revenue in the coming years, according to the company’s director Sharan Bansal, quoted in a company release.

In a release, Bansal noted that there has been a strong rebound in power T&D international ordering and the company was positioned to grow exports to 75 per cent of the total engineering revenue over the next two years, as against 50 per cent in the current year.

Meanwhile, the company order inflow in the first quarter (Q1: April to June) of FY23 stood at Rs.403 crore for engineering product supplies from several state power utilities as well as export supplies.

The company’s closing order book position as of June 30, 2022, stood at Rs.2,097 crore with exports accounting for 47 per cent and the domestic market, 53 per cent.

The release noted that Skipper had a strong bidding pipeline of Rs.4,500 crore in the international market, and Rs.5,500 in the domestic market.

“Stability in the raw materials pricing and freight costs, strategically diversified business portfolio, geographical dispersion, robust balance sheet and strong closing order Book are reliable signposts pointing to a brighter future,” Sharan Bansal added.
