Sugs Lloyd Ltd announced that it has secured a turnkey contract from Dakshin Gujarat Vij Company Ltd (DGVCL), a state government-owned power discom in Gujarat.

The order involves the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of Fault Passage Indicators (FPIs) to significantly enhance fault detection capabilities across 7kV to 13kV overhead lines, a release from Sugs Lloyd said.

This contract marks a pivotal milestone for SUGS Lloyd, strengthening its foothold in Gujarat—one of India’s most progressive states in power distribution—and further fuelling the company’s nationwide strategy of driving innovation and reliability in energy infrastructure.

The project involves installation of state-of-the-art FPIs using insulated hot sticks (20kV) at every 600-metre unit. It aims at boosting grid resilience, minimise downtime, and ensure faster restoration during outages.

The order completion is scheduled within two months, following a 45-day mobilisation period.

The deployment of FPIs is expected to transform the fault management process by providing utilities with real-time detection, thereby reducing outage durations and improving consumer satisfaction. For DGVCL, one of Gujarat’s key distribution companies, the project will play a crucial role in advancing operational efficiency and delivering more reliable electricity to millions of households and businesses.

Landmark project

“We are proud to partner with DGVCL on this landmark project that will enhance grid reliability and optimise outage management,” said Santosh Shah, Chairman, SUGS Lloyd. “This contract is not just another project win—it reflects our commitment to developing and implementing innovative EPC solutions that directly contribute to India’s power sector modernisation and energy transition goals.”
