Tata Autocomp delivers fast chargers for electric buses

Tata AutoComp Systems Ltd, along with Tellus Power Green, a US-based DC charging infrastructure company, has executed a supply order for 64 200kW DC fast chargers to be deployed at charging stations being set up by Tata Power.

These charging stations are being put for charging electric buses supplied by Tata Motors to BEST Undertaking in Mumbai and GSRTC in Ahmedabad.

An official company release said that 50 of these chargers have already been commissioned and are in operation and for the balance; installation is in progress and shall be completed very soon.

The Tata AutoComp-TELLUS combine is providing complete installation and commissioning support along with ongoing AMC (annual maintenance contract) with onsite support to achieve high uptime and ensure that the chargers are available on demand to support the efficient charging as well as operation of the buses.

About a year ago, Tata AutoComp had entered into a strategic partnership with Tellus Power Green of USA for providing the charging infrastructure for upcoming electric vehicles being introduced in the country.

Besides, the Tata AutoComp–TELLUS combine has supplied 30kW and 50kW DC fast chargers as well as 7.5kW AC chargers to various customers.

Tata Power ties up with HPCL

In an independent development, Tata Power has signed an agreement with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) to provide end-to-end EV charging stations at HPCL’s retail outlets (petrol pumps) in multiple cities and major highways across the country.

Under the agreement, Tata Power will provide state-of-the-art EV charging infrastructure at HPCL pumps.. The charging infrastructure will be enabled with the Tata Power EZ charge mobile platform (an award winning app) which makes it a seamless experience to vehicle owners, a release from Tata Power said.
