Power transmission
In the power transmission business, Torrent Power’s FY26 capital expenditure was around Rs.550 crore. It may be noted that in the fourth quarter (Q4: January to March), Torrent Power commissioned an ISTS scheme associated with RE evacuation of RE power from Khavda in Gujarat.
The project, known as “Evacuation of 4.5 GW RE injection at Khavda PS under Phase II – Part D” was assigned to Torrent Power Grid Ltd (TPGL) under the regulated tariff mechanism (RTM) framework. TPGL is a 74:26 joint venture between Torrent Power and Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.
This project involves putting up a LILO of the existing 400kV Pirana (PGCIL) – Pirana (Torrent Power) line at the Ahmedabad substation. The total LILO length line is about 240 ckm, involving a total of 174 tower locations.
Torrent Power is also implementing an ISTS-TBCB project housed under “Solapur Power Transmission Ltd” and is currently under construction.
Officially termed as “Transmission system for evacuation of power from RE projects in Solapur (1,500 MW) in Maharashtra,” this project was originally scheduled to commission by March 2026 but is now expected to do so by July 2026, as per information released by Central Electricity Authority (CEA).
