Transformers & Rectifiers (India) Ltd [TARIL] has announced that it has begun manufacturing of high voltage transformer bushings.

In a regulatory filing, TARIL said that it has launched 245kV high-voltage bushings, in line with its backward integration policy.

These bushings were manufactured at the company’s Changodar plant in Gujarat, by TARIL Switchgear Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of Transformers & Rectifiers (India) Ltd.

Air-to-oil and oil-to-oil bushings manufactured at the company’s state-of-the-art facility in Changodar, Ahmedabad, the 245kV high voltage bushings undergo rigorous quality control measures to ensure the highest standards of excellence, the filing said.

These bushings are engineered with eco-friendly materials and processes to support a sustainable future, TARIL said that these bushings are built to deliver unmatched performance under the most demanding conditions, and incorporate Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FEMA) to ensure superior quality and reliability.

T&D India, in its story dated October 11, 2024, had reported that TARIL had outlined several steps to achieve full backward integration. These include taking over a CRGO processing house based in Gujarat, entering into agreements with global suppliers to source the company’s CRGO requirements, as well as collaborating with a leading manufacturer for producing RIP (resin impregnated paper) bushings.

In an independent development, TARIL said that it has successfully completed short-circuit test on a 8.8 MVA 33/2×0.690kV inverter duty transformer having aluminum winding. The test was conducted at Central Power Research Institute (CPRI). Inverter duty transformers are used for the renewal able energy transmission purpose, TARIL explained.
