Tata Power Solar, as EPC contractor, has built a two-level pooling substation for Vibrant Energy’s 66-mw solar power plant.

In a release, Tata Power Solar, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tata Power, said that the EPC team of Tata Power Solar built a two-level pooling substation in view of the undulating terrain at the project site.

Further, the hard-rock land was earthed to ensure structural stability of the entire EHV (extra high voltage system), the release said.

Tata Power Solar was appointed EPC contractor by Vibrant Energy for building a 66-mw solar photovoltaic project. Spread over 191 acres of land, the project entailing 1.27 lakh solar modules, was completed in a record time of nine months, the release said.

Although the project location was not specified in the release, it is reliably learnt that the solar plant is located at Nagpur in Maharashtra.

In order to compression the completion schedule, materials were directly unloaded at the workplace to avoid delays caused due to multiple shifting and to enable immediate regularization. Along with this, insurance of modules was done before commissioning, the release said.

Tata Power Solar and Vibrant Energy share the vision of leading innovation-driven renewable energy solutions in the country. Tata Power Solar carved out a unique execution plan by deploying multiple teams to ensure smooth functioning and commissioning of the project at all levels.

Significant accomplishment

Commenting on the project commissioning Dr. Praveer Sinha, CEO & MD, Tata Power, said, “We consider the commissioning of this large EPC project for Vibrant Energy to be a significant accomplishment since it demonstrates our best-in-class project execution capabilities. We are sure that this project would set a new standard for industry collaboration and contribute towards India’s clean energy goals.”
