Powergrid Dharamjaigarh Transmission Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) has commissioned an interstate transmission system (ISTS) scheme that it had won under the tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) mechanism.
In a brief stock exchange filing, PGCIL said that Powergrid Dharamjaigarh Transmission Ltd has commissioned an ISTS-TBCB scheme officially referred to as “Western Region Expansion Scheme – XXVII and Western Region Expansion Scheme – XXIX.”
The scheme was completely commissioned on April 8, 2025 and the notification for commercial operation (DOCO: date of commercial operation) was received on May 23, 2025.

The project involved creation of 220kV level with 400/220kV, 2×500 MVA at the existing 765/400kV Dharamjaigarh substation. This part is referred to as WRES-XXIX. Besides, under WRES-XXVII, 220kV (GIS) level was created with 400/220kV, 3×500 MVA at the existing 765/400kV Raipur pooling station. Both the substations are located in Chhattisgarh. The project did not involve any transmission line development.
