Epsilon Composite supporting the India–France strategic collaboration on critical infrastructure

As part of Emmanuel Macron’s recent state visit to India, Alexandre Lull, CEO of Epsilon Composite, was part of the official delegation of companies accompanying the French President.

This major diplomatic event is part of the global strategic partnership between France and India.  It marked:

  1. The official launch of the Franco-Indian Year of Innovation
  2. The Indo-French CEO Forum
  3. Participation in the opening session of the AI Impact Summit 2026

In a world marked by geopolitical fragmentation and technological tensions, French President Emmanuel Macron and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized that the Franco-Indian relationship is a factor of stability, trust, and strategic continuity. This relationship has endured for decades and is based on a clear ambition: combining cutting-edge French technologies with Indian industrial expertise, in a logic of sovereignty and international cooperation.

The structuring axes of the Franco-Indian partnership were reaffirmed:

  • Security and strategic autonomy
  • Energy transition and technological sovereignty
  • Human partnerships and joint innovation

One observation stands out: whether in industry, artificial intelligence, or decarbonized energy, these ambitions all rely on robust physical infrastructure.

During an energy-focused panel, discussions confirmed a central point: the main obstacle to the massive deployment of photovoltaic solar and renewable energy in India is no longer production, but electricity transmission.

Power transmission has become the structural bottleneck of the energy transition, and building new lines requires long delays, typically 3 to 5 years. In this context, Epsilon Composite’s advanced HVCRC® composite core conductors immediately increase the capacity of existing lines without lengthy and costly work.

Alongside electricity storage and AI-driven management, they are key levers for accelerating India’s goal of 500 GW of installed renewable capacity by 2030.

CEO Forum

At the Indo-French CEO Forum, attended by Roland Lescure (French Minister for Industry and Energy) and Jitin Prasada (Indian Minister for Commerce and Industry), Indian authorities highlighted the trajectory pursued by Narendra Modi’s government over the past 15 years: regulatory stability, continuous reforms, increased openness to competition, and enhanced attractiveness for foreign investment. They also praised the strengthening of the historic partnership between France and India: “France and India have been true friends for decades, and even more so in recent years.”

The Invest in India team presented key figures of this cooperation. Discussions among leaders showcased successful collaborations and created new business opportunities in defense, infrastructure (energy, sanitation, transport), and AI.This meeting also gave Epsilon Composite the opportunity to meet with the Indian teams of major French groups operating in India, such as EDF and TotalEnergies, in order to forge links and discuss projects and prospects in the infrastructure sector.

AI Impact Summit

On February 19, 2026, Alexandre Lull participated in the inaugural event of the AI Impact Summit, held at the Bharat Mandapam amphitheater in New Delhi. The event was attended by numerous heads of state, the UN Secretary-General, and leaders of major international tech companies, including Sam Altman (OpenAI), Sundar Pichai (Google), Dario Amodei (Anthropic), and Arthur Mensch (Mistral AI).

Several key messages emerged during the summit. Held at a time when digital sovereignty is a top political priority, and as the world largely depends on American and Chinese technologies, it is more necessary than ever to translate digital sovereignty discourse into concrete public policies and deployed solutions, rather than mere statements of intent.

On the Indian side, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled his “MANAV” vision for AI, which stands for Moral, Accountable, National sovereignty, Accessible & Inclusive, and Valid and Legitimate. He emphasized technology democratization, human oversight, and linguistic inclusion in a country marked by exceptional diversity.

On the French side, Emmanuel Macron advocated for a paradigm shift, moving from a “Compete or lose” logic to “Connect or fall behind.” He praised India’s trajectory of frugal innovation in AI and highlighted five essential pillars for AI sovereignty: models, infrastructure, talent, capital, and adoption.

A fundamental point connects these two approaches: AI is not just software but relies on interdependent layers: applications, models, chips, digital infrastructure, and energy. Data centers, chips, and AI systems require reliable, stable, and abundant electricity. Digital sovereignty thus directly depends on energy sovereignty, which in turn relies heavily on transmission and distribution infrastructure.

President Macron mentioned the structuring of an energy corridor linking India to the Middle East, then to Africa and Europe, via high-voltage direct current (HVDC) interconnections. Such a project involves not only increased electricity transmission capacity but also the gradual harmonization of networks and technical standards. In this context, electrical transmission emerges as a strategic infrastructure, alongside data centers, digital networks, and defense systems.

Composite core conductors: a crucial technology for accelerating transformations

During the visit, Alexandre Lull presented Epsilon Composite’s activities in India to President Macron, particularly the HVCRC composite core conductor technology, supported by a French industrial sector that includes Toray Carbon Fibers Europe (carbon fiber manufacturer), Nexans (cable manufacturer), and Sicame (accessories manufacturer).

Epsilon Composite’s HVCRC conductors increase the capacity of existing power lines, reduce losses and sag, and avoid or delay heavy infrastructure investments. They represent an asset optimization technology that is immediately deployable, serving the energy transition, industrialization, and development of digital infrastructure.

Concrete results

This strong growth positions Epsilon Composite as a key industrial player in the modernization of India’s energy infrastructure. Beyond strategic and diplomatic aspects, the visit resulted in significant commercial progress for Epsilon, with the signing of three major contracts for HVCRC® conductors and an order from Indian special forces for Blacklite® stretchers, making India Epsilon Composite’s largest market in 2026.

This visit confirms a structural dynamic: modernizing electrical grids is a prerequisite for the energy transition and technological sovereignty. Electrical transmission, storage, artificial intelligence, and industrial infrastructure form a unified strategic foundation. Epsilon Composite is committed to sustainably contributing to this modernization dynamic by providing concrete and operational technological solutions.
