Adani Energy Solutions Ltd (formerly Adani Transmission Ltd) will be developing an intrastate power transmission in Rajasthan, which will facilitate evacuation from a state government-owned thermal power plant.

The intrastate transmission scheme, expected to cost around Rs.109 crore, will be developed under concession from state transmission utility Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Ltd (RVPN) and will be housed under project special purpose vehicle “Sangod Transmission Service Ltd” (STSL).

Adani Energy Solutions was selected as the developer under the tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) mechanism.  Sangod Transmission Service Ltd will be responsible for the development of an intrastate transmission scheme in Rajasthan, meant for evacuation of power from the Kalisindh thermal power plant owned by state generator Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd.

Adani Energy Solutions acquired full equity control of Sangod Transmission Service Ltd from RVNL on October 6, 2023. RVPN had incorporated the project SPV on February 3, 2021.

The transmission scheme will involve setting up of a 2×400/220kV, 500 MVA GIS substation at Sangod along with 220/132kV, 160 MVA transformer and associated lines. The associated lines will include a 7.5-km LILO of one circuit of the 400kV double-circuit line from 400kV Kalisindh substation to 765kV Anta substation, at the proposed 400kV Sangod GIS substation. The transmission scheme will be developed under build, own, operate & maintain (BOOM) modality.

The Kalisindh power plant currently has two operational units of 600-mw each, and there are plans to add one 800-mw supercritical unit, taking the overall installed capacity to 2,000 mw.
