All five project SPVs of Gujarat 14-GW RE scheme transferred to winning developers

In a very significant development, all the five project SPVs corresponding to TBCB components of the mega 14-GW RE evacuation scheme in Gujarat were transferred to their respective winning developers on October 12, 2026.

While bid process coordinator PFC Consulting Ltd (PFCCL) transferred three schemes, REC Power Development & Consultancy Ltd (RECPDCL) did so with two.

Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) was most successful in acquiring three of the five project SPVs while Ceigall India Ltd and AnantGrid Projects One Pvt Ltd acquired one each.

Project Background

The 14-GW RE evacuation plan has three broad components. The first relates to Jam Khambaliya (Phase-II, 5.5 GW) and Jamnagar (Phase-I, 1 GW). The second is associated with Lakadia (Phase-II, 7.5 GW).

The third component will deal with the common transmission system for the two aforementioned components. This component has been divided into three parts – Part A, Part B and Part C.

This gives a total of five components, with each component bid out as an independent ISTS-TBCB scheme. (Learn more)
