AP High Court grants interim relief to Amara Raja Batteries

The Andhra Pradesh High Court has granted an interim suspension of closure orders issued by Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board (APPCB) with respect to two manufacturing facilities of Amara Raja Batteries in the state.

In a stock exchange filing, Amara Raja Batteries said that the Andhra Pradesh High Court has granted interim suspension of the closure orders dated April 30, 2021, issued by APPCB pertaining to the company’s plants located at Karkambadi and Nunegundlapalli, both in the Chittoor district.

“In compliance to the orders issued by Hon’ble High Court of Andhra Pradesh, the company is committed to work closely with APPCB officials for satisfactory resolution of the matter in the interest of all stakeholders,” Amara Raja Batteries Ltd (ARBL) said in the filing.

The orders of APPCB had ordered closure of the two plants with immediate effect. (Read more).
