BHEL reports order inflow of close to Rs.9,500 crore in Q1FY25

Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has reported an order inflow of nearly Rs.9,500 crore in Q1FY25 (April to June 2024), with a clear dominance of power sector-related mandates.

In an investor presentation, BHEL said it received orders worth Rs.9,488 crore during Q1FY25 with domestic power sector-based order accounting for Rs.8,500 crore, or nearly 90 per cent. The remaining was accounted for by the industry sector (Rs.918 crore) and exports (Rs.70 crore).

As of June 30, 2024, BHEL’s outstanding order book of Rs.1,35,348 crore with the power sector representing 75 per cent, followed by industry with 22 per cent and exports with 3 per cent.

BHEL’s products and service related to power transmission & distribution fall under the company’s “industry” business segment.

In Q1FY25, BHEL received several orders for supply of transformers of various ratings from transmission companies, the presentation said.

 

Recognition by PGCIL

The presentation also noted that BHEL was honoured by Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) at the latter’s “CEO Meet 2024” for having commissioned three critical substations under PGCIL’s Neemuch REZ TBCB project, ahead of contractual schedule. According to information available with T&D India, this ISTS-TBCB project, housed under “Powergrid Neemuch Transmission System Ltd” was fully commissioned on March 31, 2024. The scheme aimed at creating evacuation infrastructure for 1 GW worth of renewable energy from the Neemuch Solar Park in Madhya Pradesh.
