PGCIL clinches ERSS-XXI transmission scheme in TBCB mode

Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCIL) has been declared as developer (successful bidder) for the Eastern Region System Strengthening Scheme (ERSS)-XXI in Bihar, which has an estimated cost of Rs.1,320 crore. In a stock exchange communication, PGCIL said that it received the letter of intent on October 17, 2017. The project was awarded using the tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) mechanism.

EESL to make Guwahati Income Tax Office energy efficient

Income Tax Office (Aaykar Bhawan) at Guwahati in Assam has signed an agreement with Energy Efficiency Services Ltd (EESL) to retrofit existing inefficient lighting, fans and air conditioners with energy efficient appliances. This MoU was signed under the Buildings Energy Efficiency Programme (BEEP) that is being implemented by EESL. This is the first such project in the Income Tax Department, a release by EESL noted.

PM launches “Saubhagya” scheme for complete national electrification

India successfully completes online testing of 765kV transformer

The Indian electrical equipment industry recently crossed a new milestone when the newly-commissioned National High Power Test Laboratory Pvt Ltd (NHPTL) successfully tested a 765kV power transformer at its Bina test centre in Madhya Pradesh.

A senior official of NHPTL confirmed that NHPTL has successfully commissioned its grid-based 765kV class state-of-the-art Short Circuit Testing Laboratory at Bina, Madhya Pradesh. The first commercial short circuit test on a 765kV class transformer was conducted on September 11, 2017. With respect to online testing, this is indeed the first instance of its kind in the world.
