CG Power and Industrial Solutions Ltd (CG) has announced the launch of its AMX Series Drives.

This new range of general-purpose AC drives further expands the company’s portfolio of industrial drives & automation solutions. Engineered to control both induction and permanent magnet motors, the AMX series is designed to deliver precise speed regulation, fast torque response and reliable performance across a wide spectrum of industrial applications worldwide, a release by CG said.

Positioned as “Cutting-edge drives for robust and versatile applications,” the AMX Series reflects CG’s commitment to helping industries improve efficiency, productivity and operational reliability through intelligent drive solutions, without compromising on ease of use or total cost of ownership.

The AMX range combines advanced V/F and field-oriented control (FOC) with a compact, space-optimised design, delivering high starting torque, precise speed regulation and improved low-frequency performance under demanding industrial conditions. Available across power ratings from 1.5kW to 55kW, 3-phase, 230V to 480V, the AMX series is manufactured at CG’s facility in Mandideep, Madhya Pradesh.

The AMX Series Drives up to 18.5kW is now available through CG’s sales and channel network and up to 55kW will be rolled out in the coming quarters.

Key features of the AMX Series:
  • High starting torque characteristics and reliable performance under heavy-load startup conditions
  • Robust, conformally coated design rated for 50°C ambient operation without deration, engineered to withstand hot, humid and harsh operating conditions
  • Built-in load monitoring, timers, counters and virtual I/Os enable flexible in-built logic without the need for external hardware
  • Graphical user interface with an in-built oscilloscope for instant monitoring and waveform analysis
  • In-built brake chopper (up to 45kW) and integrated vector braking for quick, safe and controlled stops
  • Built-in energy-saving function that automatically pauses the motor when operation is not required

Optimized efficiency, enhanced reliability

Commenting on the launch, Amar Kaul, Group CEO & Managing Director, CG Power and Industrial Solutions Ltd said, “Industries today are looking for drives that do more than run a motor — they need built-in intelligence that helps plant teams monitor performance, prevent downtime and keep operations running efficiently. The AMX Series Drives bring that capability into a compact, rugged package and it reflects how CG is investing in technologies that make everyday operations simpler for our customers, while optimizing efficiency and enhancing reliability of equipment on the shop floor.”
