Delton Cables commissions new plant in Haryana

Delton Cables Ltd has commissioned a new cable manufacturing plant in Haryana.

In a media release, Delton Cables said that the new plant catering to emerging telecom sector demand from major telecom operations became operational on June 7, 2025.

Delton, it may be recalled, was in the process of setting up an additional capacity (Plant III) for manufacturing telecom cables. To this effect, the company took on lease a new industrial property adjoining the company’s Plant II at Prithla in Haryana.

Meanwhile, the company’s total order book as on June 30, 2025 stood at Rs.309 crore, out of which 81 per cent comprised orders from the relatively better-margin segments like EPC and telecom cables.

Steady performance in Q1FY26

Commenting on the company’s Q1FY26 financial performance, Vivek Gupta, Managing Director, Delton Cables, said, “We at Delton cables are expecting the current fiscal to be a significant one in terms of our future aspirations. The first quarter performance was quite steady, and the improvement in EBITDA margin was a result of our ongoing efforts to bring improvement on that front through optimising business mix, by improving internal efficiencies, and smarter procurements. While Delton has been swift in responding to the sector demands by setting up asset-light manufacturing, and enhancing product portfolio, our focus for FY26 is going to be profitable growth with better ROCE.”

Market size

In an investor presentation, Delton Cables estimated that the cable market size in India, which was estimated to be $19.4 billion in 2024 would reach around $27.8 billion by 2028. The company has also estimated that the market share of branded cables will progressively grow from 61 per cent in FY14 to 80 per cent in FY27. Being a well-known brand with a standing of more than 75 years will help Delton Cables to capture the market share of “unbranded” players, the company said.
