Diamond Power Infrastructure receives large 66kV cable order from GETCO

  • T&D India
  • March 31, 2026

Diamond Power Infrastructure Ltd has announced the winning of a major 66kV EHV cable order from state utility Gujarat Electricity Transmission Company Ltd (GETCO).

In a release, Diamond Power said that the order relates to supply of around 270km of 66kV cables, to be fulfilled in four months from the date of purchase order. The order is valued at around Rs.60.54 crore (inclusive of tax), Diamond Power said in separate stock exchange filing.

The order assumes significance as it is Diamond Power’s single-largest EHV cable order and represents a “breakthrough achievement” in the power transmission segment, the release said.

The order further strengthens DPIL’s presence with state transmission utilities, a critical segment in India’s power infrastructure growth, the release observed.

Diamond Power has received and executed over 90 km of 66kV and 110kV cable orders in the last six months, having supplied to leading private sector developers and infrastructure players.

Order book

The company said that its total outstanding order book, as of March 30, 2026, stood over Rs.3,500 crore, providing strong revenue visibility for the coming periods.

“Closed club”

The release observed that the EHV cable industry is often regarded as “closed club” of technically qualified and approved manufacturers where entry barriers are significantly high.

The EHV cable industry is characterized by:

  • Limited number of qualified manufacturers with proven design, manufacturing, and testing capabilities
  • Requirement of advanced CCV (Catenary Continuous Vulcanization) lines and precision manufacturing
  • Mandatory compliance with stringent type testing and pre-qualification standards
  • Long approval cycles by utilities and EPC players

Diamond Power, with its state-of-art manufacturing infrastructure and NABL-approved testing facilities capable of testing up to 700kV cables, is well positioned among this select group of manufacturers, the release added.

UGVCL order

In a separate stock exchange filing, Diamond Power said that it has received an order worth Rs.43.93 crore (inclusive of tax) from Uttar Gujarat Vij Company Ltd, a state discom, for the supply of 453 km of cables of unspecified kV rating.
