GE T&D India appoints Rathindra Nath Basu as Chairman

GE T&D India Ltd has announced the appointment of Rathindra Nath Basu as Chairman of the company’s Board of Directors.

In a release, GE T&D India said that Rathindra Nath Basu has been appointed as “Additional Director” of the company under the “Independent Director” category, with effect from January 16, 2024.

The Board of Directors of GETDIL also appointed him as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the company with effect from January 16, 2024.

 

Rathin Basu succeeds Mahesh Palashikar, who resigns as the Chairman and Non-Executive Director of the Company with effect from January 15, 2024.

 

Speaking about the announcement, Sandeep Zanzaria,Managing Director & CEO of GE T&D India, said, “Rathin is a seasoned energy industry professional and retired from GE in 2019. We are really excited to have him back and joining the GETDIL Board as the Chairman. His deep knowledge of the power sector, global experience and industry relationships will contribute significantly to the overall growth of the company. I would also like to acknowledge the great leadership and outstanding contributions of Mahesh Palashikar, whose wise counsel helped us to build a strong reputation of the company in the industry over the years.”

Rathin has over four decades of professional experience across key domains such as power generation, transmission & distribution, large industries and transport mobility. He started working with NTPC, and later worked at various strategic leadership positions in companies like Cegelec/Alcatel Alsthom, Areva, Alstom and GE, the release added.
