GE Vernova T&D India wins HV equipment order from Sterlite Power

GE Vernova T&D India Ltd (formerly GE T&D India Ltd) has won a major order for high-voltage (HV) equipment from Sterlite Power.
In a brief stock exchange filing, GE Vernova T&D India said that the order valued at over Rs.400 crore was placed by Sterlite Grid 32 Ltd, which is known to be a subsidiary of Sterlite Power.
The order is for supply and supervision of HV equipment for a TBCB project of Sterlite Power, GE Vernova T&D India said, adding that this domestic order is scheduled for completion in two years.
No further information was provided.
According to information available with T&D India, Sterlite Power currently has a under-development portfolio of seven ISTS-TBCB projects, six of which are under active physical construction.
Sterlite Power’s newest ISTS-TBCB win is “Khavda IV C Transmission Ltd” that was formally acquired on August 30, 2024. This project is believed to be the biggest in Sterlite Power’s current portfolio and envisages around 1,100 ckm of transmission lines, and 7,000 MVA of transformation capacity coming from the new Boisar substation (GIS) in Maharashtra.
As reported by T&D India on December 9, 2024, Sterlite Power commanded the highest tariff share for Khavda IV-C among all TBCB components of the overarching Khavda IV scheme.
