Genus Power Infrastructures Ltd has reported an outstanding order book of over Rs.21,000 crore, as of June 30, 2024.

In a media release, Genus said that it had an order book of Rs.21,458 crore (net of taxes) that gives visibility for future revenue growth.

In an investor call discussing the company’s performance in Q1FY25, the senior management of Genus Power explained that out of this order book, around Rs.19,000 crore was from the GIC-Genus investment platform, while the remaining were orders (including export orders) placed directly on Genus Power for meters, meter parts, etc.

It may be recalled that the GIC holds 74 per cent in the investment platform while Genus holds 26 per cent. All the AMISP orders under RDSS that Genus has won will be transferred to the platform. The platform will then redirect these orders back-to-back on Genus, which will supply the meters, install them and undertake O&M.

The management explained that the current AMISP order book would entail the installation of 40-50 million meters, which will be completed in the next 2-3 years. In the current fiscal year FY25, Genus expects to install around 6 million meters.

Meanwhile, it is also learnt that Genus Power has emerged L1 in Punjab for a mandate involving the deployment of 1.8 million meters.

Speaking on meter manufacturing capacity, the management said that by September 2024, capacity expansion currently underway at the Guwahati plant in Assam will be completed. The company’s total current meter manufacturing capacity is around 1 million meters per month, it is learnt.

Currently, Genus Power has metering projects in Bihar, Assam, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra, under physical execution. So far, Genus has achieved “go live” status in about seven electricity circles spread over Assam and south Bihar.
