Jyoti Structures Ltd has announced that it has commissioned a 400kV LILO for Torrent Power Grid Ltd, in Gujarat.
In a stock exchange notification, Jyoti Structures Ltd said that it has successfully completed and charged a 400kV multi-circuit LILO (line-in, line-out) of the Pirana (Torrent Power) – Pirana (PGCIL) at PGCIL’s Ahmedabad substation in Gujarat.
This strategically important line is a key component of the 4.5 GW renewable energy evacuation system for Khavda Phase-II, the notification said.
The project involved execution of 240 ckm of high temperature low sag (HTLS) line, including three crossings of the Sabarmati River and several critical road crossings in the urban vicinity of Ahmedabad.
The team worked through significant challenges such as RoW (Right of Way) constraints, limited shutdown availability, and water-logged locations, adopting innovative construction approaches including porta mats, high-capacity dewatering pumps, and heavy-lift cranes, Jyoti Structures said.
Key milestone
According to Rajesh Kumar Singh, CEO, Jyoti Structures Ltd, “The energization of these sections is a key milestone in the overall project and brings us closer to completing the full transmission corridor. Background
As exclusively reported by tndindia.com on February 18, 2026, Torrent Power was expected to soon commission an interstate transmission system (ISTS) scheme associated with evacuation of renewable energy (RE) injection at the Khavda Pooling Station in Gujarat.
The project, known as “Evacuation of 4.5 GW RE injection at Khavda PS under Phase II – Part D” was assigned to Torrent Power Grid Ltd (TPGL) under the regulated tariff mechanism (RTM) framework. TPGL is a 74:26 joint venture between Torrent Power and Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.
