Jyoti Structures Ltd has announced the successful completion and commissioning of the 400kV Gadag–II transmission line project in Karnataka, for ReNew Power.

The project comprises 100 ckm of twin HTLS transmission lines connecting Gadag Power Station and Koppal Power Station. The transmission line passes through the districts of Gadag and Koppal, where the project team navigated challenging interior terrain, severe right-of-way (ROW) constraints, and difficult soil conditions, including stretches of black cotton soil, the release said.

The project forms part of the interstate transmission system designed to evacuate renewable energy from the Koppal Solar Energy Zone, which has an estimated generation capacity of 1,500 MW. The project was implemented on a Build, Own, Operate and Maintain (BOOM) basis, enabling the transmission of renewable power from the region to the national grid.

Commitment of project team

Commenting on the milestone, Rajesh Kumar Singh, CEO, Jyoti Structures Ltd, said, “The successful completion of the ReNew Power transmission line was made possible through the sustained efforts and commitment of our project teams, who worked through challenging terrain and right-of-way conditions. Coming soon after the successful charging of the Torrent project, this marks our second project delivered within a fortnight. We are grateful to our clients for their continued trust in Jyoti Structures, and we remain committed to supporting the development of reliable transmission infrastructure that enables renewable power evacuation and contributes to India’s clean energy goals.”

Project impact

The commissioning of the transmission line will help strengthen grid connectivity for renewable energy projects in the region and support the efficient evacuation of solar power generated in the Koppal Solar Energy Zone. As India continues to expand its renewable energy capacity, the development of robust transmission infrastructure plays an important role in ensuring that clean power generated in renewable energy zones can be reliably transmitted to demand centres across the country. Projects such as this contribute to enhancing grid stability while supporting the broader transition toward a more sustainable and diversified energy mix.
