Lumino Industries Ltd said that it was planning to nearly double the manufacturing capacity at its cable and conductor facility at Ranihati, Howrah district, West Bengal.
In a release, Lumino Industries said the capacity of the Ranihati plant would be nearly doubled to 75,000 tonnes per year, as part of a three-phase expansion programme aiming at adding 35,000 tonnes per year of new capacity.
The Ranihati facility, equipped to produce cables and conductors, currently has capacity of 40,000 tonnes, measured in terms of annual aluminium consumption.
In the first phase of the expansion programme, capacity of 10,000 tonnes would be added by H2FY27 (October 2026 to March 2027) followed by another 11,000 tonnes in Q3FY28 (October 2027 to December 2027). The last phase, to be commissioned in Q1FY29 (April 2028 to June 2028), will see the addition of 14,000 tonnes.
This expansion plan will increase capacity across existing product categories and add the capability to produce HT power cables up to 66kV, the release said.
Order inflow
The new order inflow of Lumino Industries during the first quarter (Q1: April to June) of FY27 stood at Rs.176 crore, taking the unexecuted order book to Rs.3,059 crore as of June 30, 2026. The order book comprised Rs.1,046 crore from manufacturing and Rs.2,013 crore from EPC. Key orders secured during the quarter included an EHV substation order from state transco Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Ltd, the release said.
IPO and listing
Lumino Industries was listed on stock exchanges on September 3, 2026, following the company’s initial public offering (IPO) of Rs.700 crore, including a fresh issue of Rs.500 crore. The net proceeds will be mainly used for the repayment of borrowings and capex for manufacturing facilities.
Strategic priority
Lumino supplies specialised conductors and cables to customers across sectors, in particular leading the way in HTLS conductors in India, and selectively deploys products within its own EPC business. Going forward, the strategic priority will be to use the additional capacity to increase the contribution from specialised conductors and cables, including products for higher-voltage applications. In EPC, the company will focus on opportunities across substations and HTLS reconductoring, where its product manufacturing and project execution capabilities can be deployed synergistically, the release noted.
