Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company Ltd (MPPTCL) has strengthened and made the power transmission system of the Nimar region more reliable.

In a release, MPPTCL said that this was achieved by directly connecting the 400kV substation at Chhegaon with the Shree Singaji Thermal Power Station of state power generation utility Madhya Pradesh Power Generating Company Ltd (MPPGCL).

This was achieved by integrating the 400kV transmission line going from Singaji Thermal Power Station to the 400kV Julwania substation with Chhegaon using the “Line-In Line-Out” (LILO) technique. This development has enabled Chhegaon to emerge as a major load center in the Nimar region.

Previously, Chhegaon substation received electricity from Singaji Thermal Power Station via Julwania. With this new direct connection, power supply will become more flexible and robust. This new setup has been established at a cost of approximately Rs. 10.65 crore, MPPTCL said.

Now With direct power supply from Singaji Thermal Power Station, consumers connected to the 220kV substations at Nimrani and Nepanagar, and the 132kV substations at Chhegaon Makhan, Mundi, Khandwa, Khargone, Andad, Singot, Barwaha, Sanawad, Pandhana, Bhikangaon, Jhirniya, and Lift Irrigation Feeder at Dongargaon will benefit.

Additionally, the Chhegaon substation will have an alternative 400 kV power source, making the supply more stable and reliable, the release added.
