Bid process coordinator PFC Consulting Ltd (PFCCL) has newly incorporated a wholly-owned subsidiary “Kadapa II REZ Transmission Ltd” to house an ISTS scheme in southern India for which bidder selection is currently underway through the TBCB framework.
The ISTS scheme is termed as “Transmission system for integration of Kadapa-II REZ (Phase-I)” and is taking shape across two states — Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
This SPV will be transferred to the successful developer, the selection for which is currently underway. According to latest timelines, the technical and financial bids are scheduled to be opened on December 4, 2026.
The scheme involves putting up the Kadapa-II PS with 3×1500 MVA, 765/400kV and 7×500 MVA, 400/220kV interconnecting transformers. With total transformation capacity of 7,000 MVA, this pooling station will help meet connectivity applications for 6,322 MW already received at Kadapa-II PS. Applications include two pumped storage project (PSP) schemes of Adani Group, with individual capacities 600 MW and 2,250 MW.
Kadapa-II PS will be linked to PGCIL’s existing 765/400kV Thiruvalam GIS substation located in Vellore district, Tamil Nadu, by way of a 765kV double-circuit line running about 226 km.
With an estimated cost of Rs.3,673 crore, the scheme is scheduled to commission within 36 months from the SPV transfer date.
According to information available with tndindia.com, PFCCL is likely to soon incorporate wholly-owned subsidiaries that would act as project SPVs for the following ISTS-TBCB schemes that are currently under bidder selection process:
