Ram Ratna Wires Ltd, in a stock exchange communication, said that it would be diversifying into manufacturing of new range of products that includes copper busbars.
Ram Ratna Wires, part of RR Global Group, said that its board of directors, in a meeting held on March 30, 2023, approved the setting up of a new manufacturing facility in Rajasthan for production of:
- Printed circuit boards (PCB)
- PCB laminates
- Copper & copper alloy products like foil, busbars, etc.
The new plant will come up at Salarpur Industrial Area at Bhiwadi in Rajasthan’s Alwar district.
The company expects to invest Rs.200 crore over the next five years, towards this diversification, the filing said.
Discussing the rationale behind the diversification, Ram Ratna Wires said that with the growing demand for electronic goods and considering that PCBs and related products are used in most of the electronic products, and with the initiative and encouragement of the Government of India through various incentive schemes, the company would like to avail the benefits arising from the growing demands of the proposed new products and it will also help as an import substitute.
According to information available with T&D India, Ram Ratna Wires currently produces a wide range of copper winding wires. It has three production facilities – all located at Silvassa in the Union Territory of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu.
