REC signs MoU with CPRI to strengthen quality assurance under RDSS

REC Ltd has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Central Power Research Institute (CPRI) to strengthen quality testing and assurance mechanisms for materials deployed under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS).

In a release, REC said that the under the agreement, signed on July 14, 2026, REC and CPRI will collaborate for third-party quality testing of RDSS project materials, technical support, capacity-building initiatives, and development of robust quality frameworks. The partnership will help ensure that materials used in RDSS works conform to prescribed standards and contribute to improved operational reliability of the distribution network across the country.

The MoU was signed by Yogendra Singh, GM & HoD of PMD Quality, REC and M.G. Anandakumar, Joint Director (BD & CBS Division), CPRI. The signing ceremony was accorded by the presence of Prince Dhawan, IAS, Executive Director (PMD), REC, Dr. Neha Adhikari, Joint Director, CPRI, and officials from both organizations.
