REC Power Development & Consultancy Ltd (RECPDCL) has recently incorporated three wholly-owned subsidiaries for development of as many interstate transmission system (ISTS) schemes, under the tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) mechanism.
In a stock exchange filing, RECPDCL, a wholly-owned subsidiary of REC Ltd, announced that it has recently incorporated three project SPVs as its wholly-owned subsidiaries.
RECPDCL, as the bid process coordinator (BPC), will be responsible for selection of developers for these schemes under the TBCB route. These SPVs will then be transferred to the successful developer.
The three SPVs are:

Project: Evacuation of power from potential renewable energy zones in Khavda RE Park Phase IV (7 GW), Part A

Project SPV: Rajasthan IV A Power Transmission Ltd
Project: Evacuation of power from potential renewable energy zones in Rajasthan REZ Phase IV (Part 2: 5.5 GW) (Jaisalmer/Balmer Complex), Part A
Date of incorporation: October 10, 2023
Project SPV: Rajasthan IV C Power Transmission Ltd
Project: Evacuation of power from potential renewable energy zones in Rajasthan REZ Phase IV (Part 2: 5.5 GW) (Jaisalmer/Balmer Complex), Part C
Date of incorporation: October 11, 2023
It may be recalled that on October 5, 2023, RECPDCL incorporated two SPVs on similar lines, relating to ISTS schemes in the Khavda RE Park region, Gujarat. (Read more)
Bidding initiated
In a related development, RECPDCL has initiated the RfP process for four ISTS schemes, under the TBCB route. The last date for submission for response to RfP currently stands at December 15, 2023, and the responses will be opened on the same date.
