Resonia secures Hampapura intrastate transmission scheme in Karnataka under TBCB

Resonia Ltd has received the letter of intent for developing the Hampapura intrastate transmission system (InSTS) scheme in Karnataka, under the tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) framework.
According to a company release, bid process coordinator REC Power Development & Consultancy Ltd (RECPDCL) has issued the letter of intent to Resonia Ltd for developing the intrastate scheme formally called “Establishing 400kV substation at Hampapura along with associated transmission lines (Mandya District)” and housed under project SPV “Hampapura Power Transmission Ltd.”
In due course, the project SPV, currently a wholly-owned subsidiary of RECPDCL, will be transferred to Resonia Ltd.
As exclusively reported by tndindia.com on January 31, 2026, Resonia Ltd had emerged as the L1 bidder for the Hampapura scheme, getting the better of four other contenders. For Resonia, the newly-won scheme also extends the company’s footprint to the intrastate power transmission development space.
Important milestone

TBCB in Karnataka
According to information available with tndindia.com, letters of intent for two intrastate-TBCB schemes in Karnataka, have been issued so far. While Resonia has received it for the Hampapura scheme, Dilip Buildcon was issued the letter of intent for the Mekhali scheme in March 2026. Incidentally, the Ryapte scheme in Karnataka, for which bidders were shortlisted for opening of initial price bids, has now come up for re-bidding. At least three other intrastate-TBCB schemes in Karnataka are currently under bidding, while three are in the planning stage.
