Resonia’s Kishtwar Transmission Project Wins Bronze at IPMA Global Awards 2026

Resonia Ltd has won the Bronze Award in the Construction, Engineering and Infrastructure category for its Kishtwar Transmission Ltd (KwTL) at the IPMA Global Awards 2026, announced during the IPMA Global Awards Gala in Hiroshima, Japan, on September 18, 2026.
In a release, Resonia said that the award was presented as part of the 35th IPMA World Congress at the IPMA Global Awards Gala, which brought together more than 430 project-management professionals, industry leaders and experts from around the world.
KwTL was recognised in a highly competitive international field for its successful execution under challenging geographical and operational conditions. Entries were evaluated by international assessors on parameters including project delivery, innovation, leadership, stakeholder engagement and long-term impact.
This global recognition builds on KwTL’s earlier success at the PMA India National Project Excellence Awards 2026, where the project was recognised for excellence in project management, innovation and stakeholder engagement, the release noted.
Strong execution capabilities
According to Prashant Sinha, CEO, Resonia, said, “We are honoured to receive this recognition for Kishtwar Transmission Ltd. The project reflects our strong execution capabilities in challenging terrains and our commitment to strengthening grid reliability and advancing India’s clean energy transition.”
Project profile
KwTL is a Rs.4.07 billion ($45.23 million) transmission project executed over 36 months to evacuate 3,014 MW of hydropower from Jammu and Kashmir’s Chenab Valley to India’s National Grid. The project strengthens the Northern Grid and is expected to positively impact approximately 13.83 million people.
The Chenab Valley has significant hydropower potential. However, reliable transmission infrastructure is essential to carry the electricity generated in the region to homes, businesses and industries across the country. KwTL addresses this requirement by connecting clean hydropower from the valley to the National Grid, strengthening grid reliability and supporting India’s transition towards cleaner energy.
Located in a challenging mountainous region, the project was executed amid difficult terrain, harsh weather conditions and limited accessibility. Transporting heavy equipment, constructing transmission infrastructure and coordinating activities across remote locations required careful planning, engineering expertise and effective project management, the release added.
