Salasar Techno Engineering Ltd has completed electrification of the Udaipur–Himmatnagar rail corridor in Rajasthan.

In a release, Salasar Techno said that the project, awarded by RITES Ltd, on behalf of the Principal Chief Electrical Engineer, North Western Railway, Jaipur, carried a contract value of around Rs.170.17 crore and covered the section from Udaipur City (excluding) to Himmatnagar (excluding) in the Ajmer Division. The rail corridor measured 210 route km (or 234.99 track km).

Scope of works

The scope covered 25kV overhead electrification (OHE), general electrification of traction substations (TSS), civil engineering works, track works, and signaling & telecommunication (S&T) works, executed across multiple sites

The TSS were located at Dungarpur and Vantada, and nine sectioning/sub-sectioning post stations at Zawar, Jai Samand, Semari, Rikhab Dev, Bechhiwara, Lusadiya, Shamlaji, Raigadh, and Himmatnagar. At each site, Salasar carried out structure erection, transformer and equipment installation, SCADA integration, earthing and cabling works, and S&T works, the release noted.

The corridor was delivered in three phases, each independently verified by the Commissioner of Railway Safety or through RITES inspection. The electrified line supports faster, cleaner train movement between Rajasthan and Gujarat, in line with India’s Net Zero Carbon vision for sustainable rail logistics.

Integrated EPC execution model

“Completing the Udaipur–Himmatnagar corridor strengthens Salasar’s credentials as a full-scope railway electrification partner, capable of delivering complex, multi-site infrastructure to independently certified safety standards. This project reflects our integrated EPC execution model, spanning OHE, traction sub-stations, civil, track and signaling works, and our commitment to building infrastructure that supports India’s sustainable transport goals.”- full ownership from OHE and traction sub-stations through to civil, track and signaling, built to standards that hold up to independent scrutiny. That’s the model we want to keep scaling as India’s railway network electrifies,” noted Shashank Agarwal, Managing Director, Salasar Techno Engineering Ltd.
