Schneider Electric Infrastructure Ltd (SEIL) has recorded its highest-ever quarterly order intake in the second quarter (Q2: July to September) of FY27.

In a release, the Schneider Electric Group entity, said that its order intake in Q2FY27 touched Rs.1,265 crore, surpassing the previous high of Rs.915 crore seen in Q1FY27.

During the first half (H1: April to September) of FY27, order intake was Rs.2,180 crore, up nearly 25 per cent from the corresponding Rs.1,749 in H1FY26. (See table).

The unexecuted order backlog, as of September 30, 2026, stood at Rs.2,701 crore, providing healthy sales visibility, the release observed, adding that demand remained strong across the established segments and the emerging ones, such as data centres and semiconductors.

Execution gaining momentum

Deepak Sharma, Zone President — Greater India, Schneider Electric, and Board Director, Schneider Electric Infrastructure Ltd, said, “SEIL has delivered another strong order quarter, and the recovery in sales in Q2 shows that our execution is gaining momentum. Demand from data centres, semiconductors and grid infrastructure continues to be strong as India advances its electrification and industrial modernisation journey. While profitability remains below last year, our priority is to convert the strong order book into sales, and to improve project margins, through disciplined execution, cost pass-through and portfolio enrichment.”

Expansion of MV components facility

In its meeting on October 29, 2026, the SEIL board approved further capacity expansion at the company’s medium voltage (MV) components facility at Kolkata. Accordingly, the company plans to invest Rs.211 crore to enhance the manufacturing capacity of vacuum interrupters from 2.50 lakh units per year to 3.75 lakh units per year. The breaker manufacturing capacity is also being enhanced by 18,000 units per year.

This capacity expansion plan, targeted for completion by end of FY29 (by March 31, 2029), will be financed through internal accruals and/or external borrowings, the company release said, adding that the proposed capex supports the company’s capacity augmentation requirements, export growth plans and technology upgradation initiatives.
