Skipper records order inflow of Rs.1,251 crore in Q1 of FY24

Skipper Ltd reported order inflow of Rs.1,215 crore in Q1 of FY24, which was the company’s highest-ever first-quarter order inflow.

According to an investor presentation filed on stock exchanges, the order inflow of Rs.1,215 crore in Q1 of FY24 included Rs.479 crore of international orders.

The company’s order book position as of June 30, 2023 stood at Rs.5,372 crore. Of this, domestic orders accounted for 76 per cent and exports, 24 per cent.

Viewed by business segment, the domestic power T&D sector accounted for 26 per cent of the company’s order book position, as of June 30, 2023.

In the power T&D sector, Skipper’s activities largely comprise the manufacturing of power transmission towers, power distribution poles, and monopolies. The company is also engaged in EPC works related to power transmission and railway electrification.

Skipper Ltd has three business divisions – engineering products, infrastructure, and polymer. Power T&D-related activities fall under the first two.

Engineering products exports made inroads into high potential developed markets of North America, Asia Pacific, West Africa and Middle East, which were earlier dominated by Chinese and Turkish players, the presentation said.

As of June 30, 2023, Skipper had a strong bidding pipeline of Rs.12,550 crore including Rs.6,000 crore in the international market and Rs.6,550 crore in the domestic market.

Domestic power T&D activities are showing signs of strong rebound, and the tender pipeline continues to stay strong, Skipper said. Many tenders in the domestic T&D market which got postponed are now expected to be concluded in next few months, the presentation observed.
