Tata Power, in a release, said that its wholly-owned subsidiary TP Saurya Ltd has received a letter of intent for setting up a 250-mw grid-connected solar power project in Maharashtra.

The release said that the LoI was issued by state power utility Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Ltd (Mahagenco) and the project was awarded to TP Saurya through the tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) mode, followed by e-reverse auction.

According to Dr. Praveer Sinha, CEO & MD, Tata Power said, “We are proud to win this large scale grid-connected solar photovoltaic EPC power project. The project will further promote the share of renewable power in the overall energy mix in Maharashtra. We are one of the leaders in solar power and committed to usher in an era of clean energy in the country.”

With this, the total renewable capacity of Tata Power will reach 4, 611 mw, which includes 2,947 mw of installed capacity and 1,664 mw under implementation.
