Voltamp Transformers Ltd has targeted to commission its under-construction greenfield plant in Gujarat by June 2026.

In a release, Vadodara-based Voltamp Transfromers said that construction of the greenfield EHV power transformer facility was progressing on schedule, with completion targeted by June 2026, subject to unforeseen circumstances.

According to information available, the plant, coming up at Jarod in Vadodara district, will have annual manufacturing capacity of 6,000 MVA, in the first phase. Capacity expansion could be planned in future, governed by market conditions. The new plant will be used to produce transformers in the 220kV class, up to 250 MVA rating.

The capital outlay for the new unit is around Rs.200 crore that is being financed through internal accruals. As of December 31, 2025, Voltamp had incurred capital expenditure of around Rs.124.22 crore on the plant.

Voltamp currently has two manufacturing units — located at Makarpura and Vadadla – both in Gujarat.

Order inflow

During the period April 1, 2025 to around February 5, 2026, Voltamp saw cumulative new order inflow of Rs.1,981 crore, corresponding to 16,768 MVA of capacity. The company opened FY26 with an order book of Rs.938 crore (or 7,904 MVA), as of April 1, 2025.

Revenue visibility

The company remains selective in accepting new orders, focusing on profitability, execution certainty, and healthy cash flows. The enquiry pipeline remains healthy. However, sharp increase in copper prices recently have slowed down the pace of order closure among end customer and corporates for the time being, the release said.

Outlook

The medium-term outlook for transformer demand remains strong. Several leading industry players continue to report healthy order book, particularly from power utilities, reflecting sustained investment in power infrastructure.
