WattPower has introduced its 506KTL grid-forming utility-scale inverter.
The product was unveiled on the opening day of the ongoing Renewable Energy India (REI) Expo 2026, a company release said
The smart string inverter is specifically designed to help EPCs and renewable energy developers build grid-ready solar projects that remain stable in weak-grid conditions and during severe grid disturbances.
Utility-scale solar projects today are expected to do far more than generate electricity. They must remain stable during grid disturbances, operate reliably in weak-grid environments, and meet evolving regulatory requirements without compromising plant performance. The WattPower 506KTL addresses these challenges directly through its advanced Grid-Forming architecture, which includes virtual inertia support and power oscillation damping. This enables EPCs and developers to reduce project risks, minimize solar curtailment, enhance grid stability, and improve long-term operational performance.
Engineered to improve project returns, the WattPower 506KTL offers 1000V AC and 1600V DC capabilities, significantly reducing power loss and lowering balance-of-system (BoS) costs. By delivering 40 per cent more power density, the inverter helps reduce the overall inverter count, which translates to lower lifetime operating costs and maximized energy generation across the project’s lifecycle.
