Atlanta Electricals Ltd (AEL) has received approval from Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) for manufacturing of transformers of up to 400kV class, at Atlanta’s Vadod facility in Gujarat.

In a release, Atlanta Electricals said that this approval has come within two years from the groundbreaking for this facility.

This approval from PGCIL validates the Atlanta Electricals’ strength and its commitment to get into EHV class transformer supplies, subject to meeting qualifying requirements for 400KV transformers and completion of a short-circuit test.

Both PGCIL and NABL nods propel AEL into large EHV tenders, boosting toward peak 63,000 MVA utilization.

Supporting AEL’s aggressive growth

Niral Patel, Chairman & Managing Director, Atlanta Electricals Ltd, said, “This approval validates AEL’s recent investments in the Vadod facility, enabling production of high-MVA units at scale that is critical for India’s grid modernization and renewable evacuation. This certification supports AEL for aggressive growth in renewable energy sector and aligns with India’s Rs.9.6-trillion transmission capex through 2032.”

Diversified portfolio

With over 30 years of industry experience and a diversified portfolio spanning power, auto and inverter duty transformers, Atlanta Electricals continues to support India’s grid modernisation and capacity expansion needs through high-quality, reliable and energy-efficient transformer solutions, the release added.
