Bajel Projects Ltd has announced that it has won a power transmission-related order worth Rs.1,500 crore – the single-largest in the company’s history.

Placed by project SPV “Lakadia A Power Transmission Ltd,” the EPC order relates to building transmission lines and substation augmentation works associated with an interstate transmission system (ISTS) scheme for renewable energy evacuation in Gujarat.

The order entails building 765kV lines from Halvad to Gujarat, and additional works at the existing substations at Halvad, Vadodara and South Olpad. The entire project is geographically located in Gujarat.

The EPC mandate is scheduled to commission in 36 months from the date of award, Bajel Projects said.

Lakadia A Power Transmission

Lakadia A Power Transmission Ltd is a wholly-owned subsidiary of AnantGrid Projects One Pvt Ltd (AGPOPL) — a company jointly owned by Bajel Projects Ltd (26 per cent) and National Investment and Infrastructure Fund (74 per cent)

AGPOPL acquired project SPV “Lakadia A Power Transmission Ltd” on October 12, 2026, after having emerged winning developer under the tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) framework

The ISTS-TBCB scheme to be developed by the project SPV is formally termed as “Common Transmission System for evacuation of power from Lakadia (Phase-II: 7.5 GW), Jam Khambhaliya (Phase-II: 5.5GW) and Jamnagar (Phase-I: 1 GW) – Part-A.”

This scheme, in turn, is a component of an overarching scheme aiming at creating evacuation infrastructure for 14 GW of renewable energy from RE-rich zones in Gujarat. The overall scheme has been divided into five independent ISTS schemes, which have since been awarded to their winning developers under TBCB. Proud milestone

Commenting on the development, Rajesh Ganesh, Managing Director & CEO, Bajel Projects Ltd, said: “Securing this landmark Rs.1,500-crore project, the largest transmission order in Bajel Projects’ history, is a proud milestone that reflects the strength of our execution capabilities, technical expertise, and the trust placed in us by our stakeholders. This project is the result of a successful collaboration between Bajel, NIIF, and AnantGrid, and a significant step towards strengthening India’s transmission infrastructure for large-scale renewable energy integration. This project uniquely positions us as we take up the dual role of an EPC partner and a project developer. As the country advances towards its ambitious clean energy goals, we remain committed to delivering world-class transmission networks that are reliable, sustainable, and future-ready, while creating long-term value for our customers and the nation.”

Order from Tata Power

In an independent development, Bajel Projects has been awarded a Rs.200 crore-plus EPC order by Tata Power for 400kV gas insulated switchgear (GIS) and associated equipment along with civil works for the 400kV GIS Receiving Substation (RSS) at Dharavi and Ghatkopar in Mumbai. This order has a completion period of 18 months.

It may be recalled that on October 12, 2026, Bajel Projects had announced the winning of similar orders relating to Tata Power’s 220kV Salsette and Powai receiving stations in Mumbai. (Read full story)
