Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) has been declared as winner of the Jam Khambhaliya REZ interstate-TBCB scheme in Gujarat.

In a brief stock exchange filing, PGCIL said that it has been declared as successful bidder under TBCB to establish the ISTS scheme “Transmission system for integration of power from RE projects in Jam Khambhaliya REZ in Gujarat – Phase II (5,500 MW) and Jamnagar Phase-I (1,000 MW)” on BOOT basis, at a discovered tariff of Rs.822.91 crore per year.

The letter of intent (LoI) has been received by PGCIL on August 21, 2026, the filing said, adding that the project involves the establishment of a new GIS substation at Kalyanpur (Gujarat) along with ICT augmentation and bay extension works at under-construction substations in Gujarat, and the construction of a 765kV transmission lines traversing Gujarat.

On August 18, 2026, tndindia.com had reported that PGCIL was close to winning the Jam Khambhaliya REZ scheme, getting the better of six other qualified bidders, with a tariff quote of around Rs.820 crore per year.
