Transrail Lighting Ltd has reported new order inflow of Rs.1,638 crore during the first half (H1: April to September) of FY27. The order intake was well distributed across the company’s business verticals and geographies, a company release said.

The H1FY27 order intake included Rs.777 crore worth of mandates for reconductoring projects using HTLS conductor, as well as conductor supply orders from the USA.

International orders had a share of 38 per cent in the overall H1FY27 order inflow. In terms of business verticals, power T&D dominated with a share of 89 per cent, followed by poles & lighting (8 per cent) and civil construction (3 per cent).

Significantly, in October 2026, Transrail’s new order inflow stood at Rs.1,747 crore, exceeding the level in the entire H1FY27 period.

Order book

As of September 30, 2026, Transrail’s unexecuted order book position was Rs.14,218 crore with power T&D dominating with a 93 per cent share. Besides, the company has bid for projects worth Rs.18,000 crore with bids being under evaluation.

Strong demand environment

“The demand environment for power T&D remains strong, driven by investments in transmission infrastructure and renewable energy integration. Our enhanced capacities and capabilities position us to capitalize on these opportunities, while selectively pursuing adjacent businesses that leverage our engineering and execution strengths. As we enter the second half of FY27, our focus remains on disciplined execution, sustaining margins and building a quality order book. Backed by strong tender pipeline, we remain confident of achieving our FY27 guidance and delivering sustainable long-term value for shareholders,” noted Randeep Narang, MD & CEO, Transrail Lighting Ltd.

Projects commissioned

During H1FY27, Transrail commissioned marquee projects that included a 400kV river-crossing transmission line project in Bangladesh, a 400kV cross-border line in Nepal and the 400kV Rajasthan REZ-Bikaner line in Rajasthan.

Capacity expansion

During H1FY27, Transrail progressed with its capacity expansion plans. With respect to transmission towers, capacity now stands at 1,84,800 tonnes per annum (tpa), up from 84,000 tpa just before the company’s IPO (initial public offering) in December 2024. By the end of FY27, tower manufacturing capacity is seen rising further to 2,00,000 tpa.

With respect to conductors, the current capacity of 40,800 tpa will be expanded further to 49,500 tpa by end-FY27. The pre-IPO capacity stood at 24,000 tpa.

Transrail Lighting manufactures transmission towers at four locations – Deoli, Vadodara, Silvassa – and the newly-inaugurated facility at Butibori in Nagpur. Deoli in Maharashtra also houses the company’s transmission tower testing facility. The Silvassa unit located in the UT of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu (DNHDD) also manufactures conductors and poles.
